Sadly, 2 more vehicles were broken into at Golder Ranch yesterday. A group did the CDO shuttle and 2 unlucky riders came back to find their windows broken. PCSO was notified and responded in a surprisingly timely manner.

If anyone was at Golder Ranch yesterday between 6 AM and 2 PM and saw anything suspicious, please contact Pima County Sherriff's Office to make a report. In general, anytime you notice anything suspect at a trailhead, make sure to call it in. Law enforcement can't do anything if they don't know about it!

A few reminders when parking at Golder Ranch, or any of the other Tucson trailheads:

-Don't leave any valuables in your car, especially cash, electronics, or guns (anything easily stolen).
-Don't leave any potentially tempting items in plain sight.
-Try to park in the most visible place possible.
-If you are going to be gone from your car all day, consider parking at an alternate location and riding to the trailhead. At 50 Year, there is a second trail access point about a mile down the road on Lago Del Norte.
-If there is a break-in, make sure to let law enforcement know. While they probably won't go rushing out to find the offender, they need to know how often this happens to underscore the need for regular patrols at trailheads.

Get a couple of game cameras and set up a sting.

I was going to just start paying a homeless guy or a day laborer to sit in my car with a shotgun while I ride.

Remember, baby steps. Give them a 7 or 8in hunting knife instead...
