I get asked a lot about where some of the best beginner mountain bike rides are in Tucson Arizona.

There is a great section on this at:
Best Beginner Mountain Bike Trails in Tucson

http://tucsonbikerentals.org/mountain-bike-guide/tucsons-best-beginner-family-friendly-mountain-bike-trails/

Here are several:

Sweetwater Preserve

The east side of Sweetwater Preserve offers a windy, snaky, twisty trail that is up and down roller coast fun. Great for beginners. The trail merges into the west side which gradually becomes much more technical and rocky.

Honeybee Canyon

Arizona, Honeybee Canyon has perfectly manicured trails with scattered rocks here and there. This is a favorite place for us to take beginners and riders of all levels.

Fantasy Island Bunny Trail

Fantasy Island in general is a great place for those looking for a fun track. The Bunny Trail on the Valencia side is windy, curvy and predictable. It does have some sudden drops that can derail the unknowing.

West Desert Preserve in Green Valley, Arizona is like Fantasy Island - real mild. This is just some great desert biking.

Check out The Arizona Bicycle Association at bikeaz.org for more info.

Also the Tortolita Preserve Trail in Dove Mountain. TH is at the west end of Moore Rd off Dove Mtn. Blvd. Just park either inside or outside the gate where the blacktop turns to dirt, and the trail entrance is about 100' past the gate on the right. Gate is chained but never locked. Nice 9 mile loop thru pristine desert with a lot of wildlife. The northwest side has some houses going up alongside the trail, but still lovely, especially after the recent rains.
