Baked in Telluride is my favorite bakery on earth, many choices for all meals.
Telluride has festivals all summer (bluegrass my favorite, jazz, mushroom, blues and brews and more) so check the schedule if you want to avoid crowds.

Thanks! The bakery is a good tip as well (hard to avoid a good pastry). We can't really change the dates at this point though. It's sort of a reverse honeymoon trip; we're doing a ton of riding first then dealing with family and the wedding at the end of the trip.

If you wish to explore Cortez and the trails around there I have the local MTB map, 46 trails. One for Telluride, too. Stoner Mesa and others are right off hwy 145 the road from Cortez to Telluride, only ridden a few on the map.
Phils World in Cortez is really fun. Sand Canyon is thru an 800 year old Anasazi village, you may feel the spirits.
