So a long long time ago, I rode the loop trail on Mt Graham and was thinking about going out there soon to escape the angry ball of fire. Looking on MTB Project, it shows the Ash Creek Trail....Starting about 11K and finishing up about 3500K. The elevation profile fits my profile nicely, 98% straight down for many thousands of feet. Anyone on here ever ride this? I imagine it would involve some route finding and HAB, but I'm okay with that...Any beta on this ride?

Thx!

I think this is part of the GET trail http://www.simblissity.net/get-home.shtml if so it used to be full of dead fall and nearly impossible. The MTB Project post looks promising tho. Abe has gone over there every year there's more riding that stays up high just not that much of it.

I think I've done the loops shown as I recall it's 2 track closed to motors. Seems like there's a better loop on Graham.

Looks to be one and the same. You're right it does look promising, although I would bet it doesn't see alot of two wheeled traffic.

Right, I know there were at least 2 riders in Saffard maybe by now there's 4.

Looking at the GPS track from MTBP looks 4:30 total time with no stops, hard to believe he didn't stop for at least a minute in there somewhere.

I tried to use the MTBP app but found it to be a pain and the website won't let me edit a bunch of ride together so I gave up on posting anything there.

I do think this looks worth the drive. If I didn't have to work every weekend for a while I would offer to go over.
