I saw some photos from someone that was at this ride and I unfortunately didn't make the connection that chuck had passed away. I wish I could have been there to do the ride. I was at the first fantasy island ride with him and I wish I could have been at his last.

I saw him right before I left Tucson at your shop and we chatted and reminisced about old times. I remember going out and looking for him one night when he didn't come home after a stint of marking trail with his heel through the creasote and cactus of FI. I remember numerous Tuesday night rides with him and he did such a nice job of mentoring my wife when she was racing mountain bikes.

I am glad I saw him happily working away at Broadway Bikes on one of my last visits to your shop before I moved to Seattle. It is a fitting and great last memory of a wonderful man doing what he loved.

I'll always remember Chuck for who he was and for what he gave me all those years in Tucson from when FI was just an out and back until it became the monster it is now.
